James Stroman II, DO

James Stroman II, DO, is a Family Medicine specialist and a proud Orangeburg native who recently joined the team at MUSC Health Primary Care-Summers Avenue. His addition to the clinic brings expanded access to quality primary care for the Orangeburg community, fulfilling his longtime aspiration to serve his hometown. Dr. Stroman's deep ties to Orangeburg, as a graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and Claflin University, have shaped his path and commitment to giving back to his roots.

Dr. Stroman's journey in health care began early, working as a medical scribeat local medical centers. After earning a Master of Health Sciences degree from Meharry Medical College, he completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Carolinas Campus. His clinical training was completed at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, preparing him for the multifaceted demands of Family Medicine, where he cares for patients across all ages.

Family Medicine allows Dr. Stroman to address a range of health concerns, from hypertension and diabetes to mental health, and to connect with patients as individuals. As a recipient of the Dr. Disher Scholarship, which supports Orangeburg natives pursuing medical careers in underserved areas, Dr. Stroman is committed to addressing the unique challenges of rural health care through accessible patient education and a holistic approach.
