Leopoldo V. Rodriguez, MD, MBA, FASA, SAMBA-F Anesthesiology Dr. Leopoldo V. Rodriguez graduated in 1993 from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Dr. Luis Razetti School of Medicine. From 1996 to 2000, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology as Chief Resident at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Rodriguez is an accomplished professional in the field of Ambulatory Anesthesiology, Healthcare Management, Performance Improvement, and Quality Management, being a published author, lecturer, and international leader.

He has held various prestigious positions, including President of the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists (2021-2022), President of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) (2020-2021), Chair of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Committee on Ambulatory Surgical Care (2021-2023), Member of the ASA Committee on Performance and Outcome Measures (2017-2024), and member of the ASA Committee on Regional Anesthesia. Currently, he is serving as an Officer of the General Assembly of the International Association for Ambulatory Surgery (IAAS) until 2026. Dr. Rodriguez has held roles as medical director, vice-chair, and chair of anesthesia departments in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. He is skilled in Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia and has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals as an author.

Before joining MUSC, Dr. Rodriguez was an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in Florida and Colorado Medical Schools. Dr. Rodriguez also obtained a master's in business administration at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, Isenberg School of Business. Furthermore, he is a qualified bilingual provider in Spanish.
