His areas of interest include partial and total knee arthroplasty, revision total knee arthroplasty, primary and revision total hip arthroplasty, hip abductor/gluteus tendon repairs, and robotic-assisted surgery.
He did his undergraduate education at the University of Georgia where he graduated with a BS in microbiology. He then began his medical training at the Medical College of Georgia where he received his M.D. and graduated top of his class. Dr. Hansen then completed his internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He joined MUSC in 2020 after completing a fellowship in adult reconstruction, preservation, and resurfacing at Washington University in St. Louis.
