Taylor Martin Kerrins, M.D. Genetics, Pediatric Genetics in North Charleston, SC

Dr. Taylor Kerrins is a physician trained in medical genetics and genomics, internal medicine, and pediatrics who cares for children and adults with suspected or known genetic conditions. He has particular interests in nephrogenetics and connective tissue disorders, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and related conditions. Dr. Kerrins takes a collaborative approach to genetic care, helping patients and families understand complex medical information and how a genetic diagnosis may guide treatment, monitoring, and long-term care. His combined training in internal medicine and pediatrics provides a broad perspective across the lifespan and supports coordination among primary care clinicians, subspecialists, and genetics professionals. His academic interests include connective tissue disorders, nephrogenetics, and the use of genomic data to better understand inherited disease. His research has included evaluation phenotypic findings of elastin variants, as well as work involving rare neurodevelopmental, chromosomal, and metabolic conditions. Dr. Kerrins is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medical Genetics and Genomics. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at Geisinger Medical Center and completed a Medical Genetics and Genomics residency at Baylor College of Medicine.
