Tara Grahovac, M.D. Breast Cancer, Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology in Bluffton, SC

Dr. Tara Grahovac is a board-certified breast surgical oncologist specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of breast cancer, as well as the care of patients at increased risk for developing the disease. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Grahovac then completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Grahovac provides comprehensive, compassionate breast care to patients throughout the Lowcountry, including the Beaufort and Bluffton communities. As part of MUSC Breast Surgical Oncology, she offers expert evaluation and treatment for breast cancer, high-risk and hereditary breast conditions, benign breast diseases, and survivorship care. Working within a multidisciplinary team, she helps ensure patients have access to advanced surgical techniques, coordinated oncology services, genetic risk assessment, breast imaging, and personalized treatment plans close to home.

Prior to joining MUSC Health, Dr. Grahovac served as the first fellowship-trained breast surgeon at St. Clair Health, an independent tertiary care center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There, she played a key leadership role in expanding breast oncology services, collaborating with physical and occupational therapy teams to enhance lymphedema care. She was instrumental in establishing a multidisciplinary breast clinic and tumor conference, developing a high-risk breast screening program, and creating annual survivorship initiatives that improved patient support and long-term outcomes.
