Dr. Rory P. Dowd is a cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in complex arrhythmia management and advanced ventricular tachycardia ablation. He trained in the United Kingdom, Calgary, Canada, and Charleston, South Carolina. After internal medicine training he completed advanced fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He holds multiple international specialty qualifications including Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP), Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cardiology (FRCPC), subspecialty certification in Cardiac Electrophysiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (DRCPSC), and International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners certifications in cardiac devices and electrophysiology (CCDS, CEPS). He has also completed European Heart Rhythm Association and European Society of Cardiology certification examinations in electrophysiology and cardiac implantable electronic devices. His practice focuses on advanced high-risk ventricular tachycardia ablation, complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, conduction system pacing, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and ICD/sICD therapy.
