Oliver Jawitz, M.D., MHS Cardiothoracic Surgery, Heart Failure & Transplant in Charleston, SC

Dr. Jawitz is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the MUSC Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Jawitz performs the wide spectrum of general cardiac surgery operations, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, and aortic interventions. He is a specialist in the surgical management of patients with advanced heart failure, including heart transplantation, left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), and other forms of mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Jawitz earned his medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center during which time he also earned a master's degree in clinical research. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Duke.
