Dr. Mariah K. Tanious is a pediatric anesthesiologist who joined MUSC as faculty in 2021. She graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine with a dual degree in medicine and a Master of Public Health. This was followed by residency training in anesthesiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She then completed a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital and a bioethics fellowship at Harvard University. In addition to her clinical work Dr. Tanious dedicates time to patient outcomes research and is passionate about studying how to improve the care of high-risk patients in the operating room.
