Lauren Tapp, MD, MSCR Pediatric Hospital Medicine in Charleston, SC

Dr. Lauren G. Tapp is a pediatric hospitalist who cares for infants, children, and adolescents during their hospital stay. She is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based treatment while helping families understand their child's illness and medical care every step of the way. Dr. Tapp's clinical interests include helping children receive the right tests and treatments while avoiding unnecessary procedures. She works closely with pediatric specialists and other members of the health care team to coordinate care for children with both common and complex medical conditions. She also has a special interest in improving communication and safety as children move between different areas of the hospital, including the emergency department, intensive care unit, and inpatient units. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Tapp earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR). This advanced training helps her evaluate the latest medical evidence and apply research findings to improve patient outcomes. Her research focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric infections, and she is committed to using data and evidence-based practices to provide the best possible care for children.
