Dr. Jennifer Longoria is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics at MUSC. She is board-certified in clinical and pediatric neuropsychology. Dr. Longoria trained at Fort Worth Independent School District and Cook Children's Hospital for residency and then completed a two-year fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Henry Ford Health. Dr. Longoria provides standardized evaluations that measure thinking skills, including language, problem solving, mental speed, attention and executive functioning, memory, fine motor control, learning, mood, and behavior. These in-depth evaluations are helpful for patients with medical conditions and/or treatment that impact the brain. Dr. Longoria has expertise caring for children with brain tumors and sickle cell disease. Her visits help medical teams, families, and teachers understand how disease course and treatment impact the child's brain development and what strategies can help address areas of difficulty. Her research is focused on examining factors that impact cognitive outcomes for patients living with sickle cell disease.
