Elizabeth Malphrus, MS, CGC Genetics

Libby Malphrus, MS, CGC, is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She is a board-certified genetic counselor licensed in both South Carolina and Georgia with more than 25 years of clinical experience. A native of Beaufort, South Carolina, Libby has spent most of her life in the Lowcountry and is passionate about serving the communities she calls home. As a cancer genetic counselor and cancer survivor, she brings both professional expertise and personal perspective to caring for individuals and families navigating hereditary cancer risk. She is committed to helping patients understand their genetic risks and empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and medical care. In addition to her clinical practice, Libby is dedicated to educating and mentoring the next generation of genetic counselors through her teaching and leadership at MUSC.
