Alyssa Thompson, FNP Gastroenterology & Hepatology

Alyssa Thompson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner currently accepting new patients at MUSC Health Gastroenterology - Florence Medical Pavilion. She is committed to providing high-quality care and helping patients be informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their healthcare journey. Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Francis Marion University and worked as a registered nurse for five years. She began her career in the emergency department, where she developed strong clinical skills and a passion for helping patients during challenging times. She then spent three years working in an endoscopy lab, where she gained specialized experience caring for patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures and developed a strong interest in digestive health. After gaining valuable and extensive experience in both emergency medicine and gastroenterology, she decided to further her education and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing degree from South University. Alyssa believes in taking the time to listen to her patients, answer their questions, and work together to create treatment plans fitting their individual needs. Her goal is to help patients better understand their digestive health and feel confident in their care every step of the way.
