Alex Hovey, PA, is a certified physician assistant. He graduated from Mississippi
College with a Master of Science in Medicine-Physician Assistant Studies and
earned his bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston. Alex has extensive
experience in urgent care and currently practices at MUSC Health Orthopaedic
Urgent Care-Orangeburg, where he treats patients with orthopaedic needs by
diagnosing, casting and splinting injuries. In addition to this role, he works at
MUSC Health Express Care-Santee, offering general urgent care services. Alex's
approach to care emphasizes clinical excellence, preventative health, and patient
education, ensuring optimal outcomes for his patients.
Outside of the healthcare setting, a large portion of Alex's time is dedicated to
animals. He travels the country participating in dog agility competitions with his
border collie, Calvin.
